View Larger Image and Additional Photos of Giorgi MaghradzeAbout Giorgi Maghradze : Born in 1988, in Tbilisi, Georgia, Giorgi Maghradze is an Artist and Interior designer. He participated in several group exhibitions in Georgia and abroad (France, Ukraine) presenting his kinetic art, objects, light design and installations.
Three years ago Giorgi started to design the lighting objects with the inspiration of insects. Later the visual line of 'Insect lamps' slowly disappeared and was replaced by a new label '60 Watt Design' which is mostly oriented on experiments and various materials like concrete, steel, polypropylene, etc.
Lighting and movement are the means by which I create artwork to make it more dynamic and expressive. In recent years my approach has involved experiments with kinetic sculptures and light art. Another important aspect is THE MATERIAL. Its texture and function often allow me to follow the practical use or give it a radically different function from its usual one – this may produce a paradox. THE IDEA, which is also a very important aspect, derives from our social surroundings and human feelings which is also to be taken into account.
