A' Design Award and Competition is happy to share that the work Island by Jhunghan Jo, Chihyun Son and Minsuk Kang became a laureate of the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design Category selected as a winner by the international jurors of the A' Design Awards & Competitions among thousands of submitted projects.
Details of Island
Jo Jhunghan, the designer of the award winning project Island says “Island glass was inspired by Korean islands, Dokdo and Ulleungdo. The inspiration came from the bottom of the glass after viewing the flipped-down soju glass on the table. Soju is the most popular Korean liquor. The glass shape consists of a streamline based on the shape of the Korean language at the bottom of the glass. The shape engraves an image of a floating island on the ocean when the Island Glass is displayed.
