FAQ Entry #512

Home > Support > Frequently Asked Questions > 512

This is a respond to a previously asked question about the A' Design Award and Competition. The full list of frequently asked questions can be accessed here.

#512: I got an email from A’ Design Award that my work is nominated for an award and that I have to pay money, but I did not apply, is it true?

Unfortunately you are being scammed for the following reasons: 1) If we would nominate you or your work for A’ Design Award consideration (we have several initiatives where we sponsor all publicity, participation and nomination fees), then we would not ask you for any fees. 2) For primary participation categories, such as those listed in our categories page, (we also organize sponsored contests for third parties that are completely free of charge), we do not nominate any entities ourselves; so if you are being told that you are nominated, that’s completely false, especially if you are being asked to pay any fees. 3) Therefore if you got an email that says you are nominated and have to pay money for nomination, you are definitely being scammed; even though it is true that participation to A’ Design Award is subject to a nomination fee, we never nominate any design or designer ourselves (and if we do nominate, we don’t ask for money) and we never send emails soliciting payment for such; all standard nominations are made by the designers themselves and through A’ Design Award website. Our website URL is competition.adesignaward.com if you are getting any emails from any domain that is not adesignaward.com or if emails redirect you to any other domain be extra careful and report us all such communication and emails. 4) Always report any such email as spam and also ensure to file a police report in case you made any payments to scammers. You may also be subject to phishing attacks, we advise highest caution.
