FAQ Entry #492

#492: I did not get a preliminary score and my entry was rejected! WHY!

In most cases, this is because your presentation is so terrible that we would prefer not to give a score to it, as giving a score to a terribly presented design project would be biased and not fair to your project. We would prefer that you make an excellent presentation of your design project so that it could get the preliminary score it truly deserves. To ensure you get a preliminary score, download and follow presentation guidelines, ensure your renders are excellent or your photography professional, designs should be clearly visible and easy to understand from your images, with supportive text and optional data filled in case jurors would like to divulge more of their time understanding your entry. You can use the advanced submission optimizer, as well as ask a friend how the overall presentation looks, to get an idea of what you would need to do. Once your entry is presented good, we will for sure provide you with a preliminary score that is fair and reflects the qualities of your work, plus since your presentation would be great after you follow entry guidelines and advanced submission optimizer, the preliminary score would be as close to reality as it could get and it would be devout of any biases that might initially exist due to low quality presentation. So, in short, you might not get a preliminary score if your presentation is too low; since we would respect your design and push you to present it better.
