Interview with Vrossis at Sunday 23rd of April 2017

FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
V: actually there is no design background. Main idea came from the owners of Vrossis, and then the Brainstorm team applied the graphics. It was one of the most creative and happy period for all.

FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
V: Brainstorm team , is one of the most distinguished in Greece, and very well known in Europe.

FS: What is "design" for you?
V: a creation, like an installation or a painting.

FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
V: mostly visuals

FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
V: barceloneta chair. Timeless , refined lines, and serves its purpose 100%

FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
V: toys for modern art museum

FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
V: ha ha,you ll laugh but its auto-cad, but to be honest not working on it

FS: When do you feel the most creative?
V: when working as a team

FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
V: simplicity is the magic word when working on a design

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
V: love and joy

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
V: they range from anger to love

FS: What makes a design successful?
V: to stimulate the sense of vision , in a way that can t resist t make it yours.

FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
V: it is subjective, depends on someone w character, emotions , professional background, and many other factors. You have to develop a global understanding in order to make a such big evaluation.

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
V: Designer creates, creation moves humanity towards. He is a leader for making history . Big responsibility like the protection of the environment.

FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
V: good news ..Design is eternal it eas always evolved using different means. painting is design, cinema is design. Design is the base of other arts

FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
V: Havent done yet

FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
V: from my trips. Travelling is food for creativity and inspiration because all senses are stimulated.

FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
V: The simplest the better for me

FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
V: in Greece we have a heritage. of course this is big luck and big value to my general education and personal culture

FS: How do you work with companies?
V: very good . We form a team with people who work in these companies and then for a long period we brainstorm , all toghether

FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
V: Chemistry...it like a relationship.

FS: Can you talk a little about your design process?
V: it is never stable..always changing

FS: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?
V: telephone, and 4 lamps

FS: Can you describe a day in your life?
V: waking up, coffee, talk with friends , surfing on the net, meeting with working teams, gym then out for a drink with friends.

FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
V: always learn, listen, travel and love

FS: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
V: we are artists what better could we have in our life. WE belong to a 1% of general population that work in what they want. we are blessed.

FS: What is your "golden rule" in design?
V: the simplest the best.

FS: What skills are most important for a designer?
V: global knowledge, low profile, and lot of love

FS: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
V: my i pad, my mac, and a fly ticket anywhere in the world

FS: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?
V: if you love you can do anything

FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
V: from 1 day to 2 years

FS: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?
V: how can you always be productive?

FS: What was your most important job experience?
V: this one here now.

FS: Who are some of your clients?
V: mostly companies

FS: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
V: visuals because i play with colors

FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
V: never know

FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
V: team only

FS: Do you have any works-in-progress being designed that you would like to talk about?
V: not currently
