| DESIGN NAME: Wuhuan M704rg PRIMARY FUNCTION: Walking Sneakers INSPIRATION: This footwear design centers on user experience and aesthetics. The structurally improved heel enables effortless slipping on and off, without the hassle of bending over. This feature integrates into the overall construction, resulting in a sleek appearance. The color scheme is a simple but elegant combination of white and grey, accented with bright yellow for a vibrant touch. Moreover, the striped textures and athletic materials evoke a modern vibe, catering to a wide range of aesthetic tastes. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: M704GR walking shoes, crafted with convenience at the core, make putting on shoes a breeze. The heel design, inspired by the shape of a shoe horn, allows users to effortlessly slip their feet in simply by stepping on the heel counter and applying a gentle force. The side knob enables easy shoe lace adjustment for a tailored fit. With additional features such as the wide last, robust support, and a non slip outsole, the M704GR can envelop feet in superior comfort and security. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The side knob facilitates easy shoe lace adjustment, ensuring a tailored fit with just a twist. Users can easily slip their feet in and out of the shoes after adjusting. The outsole is made of the material with moderate hardness, and features a trapezoidal stabilizing structure that has a larger ground contact area. This design enhances support and reduces the risk of rolling ankles. This structural optimization also alleviates fatigue by evenly distributing pressure exerted on the sole of the foot. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design and development of the shoes started in Shanghai, in January 2023. This pair of shoes was introduced to the Chinese market in December 2023. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The upper, woven from highly elastic yarn using the Jacquard technique, offers a soft tactile experience and boosts breathability to keep the feet fresh and dry all day long. Moreover, the specially designed fabric of the shoes effectively inhibits bacterial growth, which is conducive to improving hygiene and reducing odors for the optimal foot health. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Dimensions 330 mm x 200 mm x 160 mm Weight 0.35kg TAGS: easy on and off shoes, quick shoe lace adjustment, enhanced comfort, stable support, breathable and antibacterial RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Putting on traditional shoes often means bending over, struggling with shoes, and fiddling with shoelaces. This is not just a hurdle for those who find bending difficult, but also for busy young urbanites for whom time is precious. To solve this problem, this footwear design introduces an innovative heel inspired by a shoe horn for easy slipping on and off. Additionally, the side knob, designed for quick lace adjustment, further enhances wearing convenience. CHALLENGE: The main challenge was to improve both comfort and convenience of wearing shoes. Deviating from conventional forms, this footwear design features a structurally optimized heel inspired by the shoe horn, facilitating easy slipping on and off. Additionally, the insole routes air and moisture from the arched area to a forefoot cavity, venting it out via a vacuum air conduit while drawing in fresh air.
