| DESIGN NAME: U Series PRIMARY FUNCTION: Universal Mulcher INSPIRATION: The U mulcher series is a continuation of a complete redesign of the product portfolio. The aim is to use the latest technologies and superior quality of workmanship with a design language started by the V series. The appearance of the machine follows the redesigned logo, with features that strongly unite sharp motion-oriented lines, large flat surfaces, and distinctive details. Corresponding bold graphics potentiate the main directions of the form and emphasize dynamics. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The head-stock features a distinct faceted and structurally robust form, which draws inspiration in the shape of Mount Rtanj, at the foot of which the company is located. The form of the reinforced side mask also associates to strength, focus and perseverance, which is the brand motto. Robustness is highlighted with carefully positioned brakes on the top surface, while the impression of orderliness and discipline is achieved by mutually corresponding angles of surfaces visible from the sides, and neat concealed joining. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The machine has a multifunctional hydraulically operated side shift attachment frame, with changeable direction of usage, for placement at the front or back of the tractor. The working height can be set in four increments using both skids and the roller. The transmission is protected from accidental impacts with a reinforced side mask, while the rotor is protected with a characteristically shaped side cover. Three working grips are available - 250, 280, and 300cm. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project lasted for several months, and was done in Belgrade and Boljevac |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Welded steel, powder-coated / galvanized SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width: 305cm, Depth: 122cm, Height: 105cm (for 280cm working grip), Weight 1010kg TAGS: Mulcher, Shredder, Dynamics, Strength, Perseverance RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The form features a combination of sharp lines and angled surfaces. The side-view details follow the direction of movement. Special attention was given to the shape and robustness of the head-stock, an important design element that brings character. The new design simplifies the production of skids and the side mask, which also play a role in the dynamic look of the product. The front and back elements were moved further apart so the machine complies to the latest CE certification rules. CHALLENGE: The product was redesigned using a streamlined visual language, strong appearance and a character set by the V series. The plan was to reduce errors and minimize the number of operations needed for build, but still achieve an interesting and forward-looking form. Large surfaces and small number of brakes presented a challenge regarding structural stability, especially considering material thickness, which needed to be relatively low, as this everyday product is intended for general usage.
