Amphibious Vehicle

INSPIRATION:
Nowadays, with the vehicle number increase, energy waste is getting worse. I hope to utilize the clean energy in the ocean, and at the same time combine water transportation and ground transportation, so that people can have a wider range of driving space and experience.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This vehicle can utilize the wave energy in the ocean. The wheel structure include the buoyancy chamber and mecanum wheel, so the vehicle can be drive in ocean and land. After use, people can parking on the shore. The vehicle will be fixed by magnetic force part of wireless charging pile. Kinetic wave energy will transmit to the conversion device in charging pile through vehicle, then convert it into electrical energy and storage. At the same time the pile can also charge the vehicle.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
This kind of vehicle is more suitable for island residents. Because they live far away from the mainland, it is difficult to obtain power supply. When people drive this car, they can reach their destination without change another vehicle. On the shore, the vehicle itself can capture waves to recharge itself. After fully charged, it will automatically drive to the road to wait for the pick-up demand.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in September 2022 and finished in April 2023 in Canton

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
This vehicle has a special wheel structure and totally made by lightweight materials. This special wheel structure include a set of double-layer buoyancy barrels that can be retracted. There is a Mecanum wheel structure on the outer layer of the barrel. When in ocean, The inner buoyancy barrel will extend out of the body, providing enough buoyancy to support the vehicle and passengers, while the special structure of the wheel allows it to drive in ocean, and the tail fin can act as a rudder, when it lands, the buoyancy barrel will shrink to inside of the other one. Mecanum wheels enable it to move freely on the ground in all directions.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Nowadays, more and more clean energy devices have been used, especially for the utilization of ocean energy. The ocean wave energy-electric energy conversion system is quite mature, but the usage scenarios are relatively single.

CHALLENGE:
The challenge of this design is how to combine the wheel structure on the ground and in the ocean. cause the buoyancy chamber structure, it cannot turn like a traditional vehicle, but the mecanum wheel solves this problem very well.
