| DESIGN NAME: Metamorphosis PRIMARY FUNCTION: Pendant INSPIRATION: This customer had a very special wish. She had lost her mother and sister but had fled father and ex-husband. She has had a hart time during childhood and again a hart time with her children in a battered women's shelter. She was in good contact with her now grown up children and in a healthy partnership with her (new) husband. She said: 'Please make with this gold a metamorphosis'. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Metamorphosis is a collier made of 750 yellow gold with a unique Paraiba tourmaline. The Paraiba tourmaline is set in a bezel that is fixet at a solid golden wheat chain. The collier is custom-made according to the wishes of the customer. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Metamorphosis is a collier we worked on with all our heart and soul. The Paraiba tourmaline was set in a 750 yellow gold bezel with a mounting that resembles oriental style, because our customer was born in Turkey. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The pendant Metamorphosis was created and built in from October untill December 2022 in Langen, near Frankfurt/Main Germany. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The Metamorphosis collier is made of a Paraiba tourmaline and a solid 750 yellow gold wheat chain. Paraiba tourmaline are one of the precious gemstones in the world. The Paraiba tourmaline has a unique and beautiful bright turquoise colour. The name comes from the location where the tourmalines were found, in state Paraiba in Brasi. But the mine is carried to end, making the gem even more precious. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Specifications: 750 yellow-gold, Paraiba tourmaline in a very good quality. Dimensions necklace 45cm, Dimension pendant: approx. 25mm and 15mm high TAGS: Paraiba, tourmaline, Brasilia, metamorphosis, jewelry, gold, pendant, goldsmith, handmade RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Taking care of where a person comes from and honouring the path covered is a very delicate job. We encouraged our customer to select a gemstone she was fond of, without looking for the price. Her selection was this beautiful Paraiba tourmaline - and it was within her budget. She wanted to transfer all the gold she had from her traumatic past into a new precious jewelry. And that is what we achieved together. CHALLENGE: The creative challenge is to talk about deeply personal concerns with a customer, but keeping a professional distance.
