| DESIGN NAME: Hub PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Lobby INSPIRATION: After the special year 2022 of stayathome period in China, we all noted the importance of the nature, green. Therefore designer proposed the cozy residential lobby with loads of feature seagull hanging lights. Seagull is the signature bird in Kunming, China. The lobby is small, around 150 square meter. Other then the reception counter, designer also considered book shelves, bar, resting areas for residents. Therefore residents would feel free to sit, read or chat with the neighbourhood. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is residential lobby interior project in Kunming, China. Plants, fresh air and nature are all common elements during this special year 2022 of stayathome period in China. Actually, we all need green and relax environment during our every working days. Designer speaially proposed "Seagull Hub" idea to this residential lobby. The function of this lobby is not only for pass through, residents would feel free to sit, read or chat with other residents here. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: As a residential lobby, clear traffic flow is very important. Designer left clear circulation from the entry to the lift lobby. Other spaces are used for the functions like conceige, rest area etc. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2020 and finished in September 2022. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Corian, tiles, glasses, aluminal panels are the main material used in the space. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Around 150 square meter. Lobby is not only a transitional space nowadays, it should be user friendly. Residents should like to stay and enjoy in the space. Designer spend much time to research the similar projects and explained to the client. CHALLENGE: Budget is the main concern of the project as economic recession beacuse of the covid-19. Designer has the clear theme "Seagull Hub" with the clear features of the space. The team tried the best to minimise budget in order to fulfill the theme.
