PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Drop Shape Analyzer

INSPIRATION:
Making scientific instruments more operational and experiential is the driving force of design. At present, nano material science and engineering has become a worldwide research hotspot. This instrument uses the video appearance contour analysis method to measure the data of sample surface hydrophobicity, wettability, surface tension and so on. The operator can flexibly adjust the conditions required by the experiment as long as he changes the settings in a few simple steps.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This is a standard drop shape analyzer, which can measure the contact Angle of all kinds of liquid to solid materials, namely, the wettability of liquid to solid. It also can measure the contact Angle of liquid in the external phase. The concept of wetting contact Angle is often involved in the study of surface modification of nanomaterials. The instrument can meet the high requirements of scientific research work, compared with similar items, its structure is more reasonable, easier to operate.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
First, connect the power supply to the back of the instrument, connect the data cable at the computer end to the port of the video optical system, press the on / off key to prepare for work, then open the special software and use the computer to control the precise drip. As long as you press the "2" key on the keyboard, the software will automatically capture the image data, analyze the image, display the result data and other steps; The whole process is completed automatically.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project was launched in Shenzhen, China in February 2021 and completed in Dongguan, China in February 2022. At present, it is still in the verification stage.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The instrument is made of high-grade aviation aluminum, equipped with industrial special CCD digital camera, high-resolution zoom microscope and high brightness LED background light source system, combined with three-dimensional sample table to realize automatic micro injection and precise movement up, down, left and right. Adopt USB2 0 standard interface is connected to the computer, and the measuring instrument software will automatically capture image data, analyze images, and export technical data.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
This is a precision instrument that studies the surface tension of various solids and liquids, such as surfactant, PCB, chip (wafer), fabric surface, paint and coating, paper, film, cosmetics, film, etc. it has a variety of different surface energy calculation methods, such as Zisman, work, forks, EOS, etc. press the "calculation" on the surface tension test interface, and the software will automatically capture image data and analyze images Calculate the surface tension and the actual width of droplets, analyze the characteristics of materials and apply them to products with different requirements.

CHALLENGE:
This instrument needs to be applied in different material fields and requires different sizes and specifications. Therefore, the base part of the instrument is changed to the form of removable replacement in the research and development process. In addition, in order to wrap the exposed structure well and partition each functional part well, many attempts have been made in man-machine experience. Finally, the current results have been obtained, and it looks good.
