Interview with 5+2 STUDIO at Thursday 12th of March 2015

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
YY: The high integrity and developability of space function is our design principles for living space.we hope that simple wood grain to increase the demand of user, and we integrate into abstract oriental symbols,and incorporate ti into the user's daily life.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
YY: We focus on the spatial function highly development, hoping to let users with good per cubic metre of space, so the combination of space function sex advantage is that we want to express.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
YY: I hope that through this award's influence to promote our popularize this way of the space, because this is helpful for users to learn more about the value of their own space, and then continue to study more perfect space development program.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
YY: With a month to complete this project, but the use of space concept is summarized through many years of accumulation.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
YY: This is our design team's idea, the client is also very agree with our work for the family.

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
YY: Because this is a commissioned the design of the project, so the intellectual property rights owned by the client.

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
YY: The function of the market environment in our country for this type of product qualitative is very strong. Design the project of this type is to design, make people think more about possibility space.

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
YY: Yes, of course.

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
YY: Functional in the space and the variability of demanding customers.

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
YY: Project of space in this paper, the contact is incremental, general project's space more than the expression of independence.

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
YY: This project use the project name address and uses, concise and clear.

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
YY: AutoCAD 3DMax Sketchup Ai PS

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
YY: Focus on shape of space functional and variability.

FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
YY: We are in the form of a team to complete the project, including FF&E, engineering, and equipment design team.

FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
YY: This design without excessive use of new technology, it is more philosophy of life.

FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
YY: Practice ten years, through comprehensive experience summarizing the results of the products of the same type family.

FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
YY: The hardest part is FF&E to cooperate, because furniture form will directly affect the combination of space as a result, but as a result of construction time and regional technology is not enough to support us for the integrity of the product, so the resources coordination is one of our difficulties.

FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
YY: Sharing, the common progress of the research, and hope to get approval to contribute a bit to promote industry, let the market can have more wonderful voice.

FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
YY: To develop the function of the space is not enough perfect, to subdivide function interface

FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
YY: We should thank the client for trusting and supporting us, and we should thank all the staff to participate in this design.
