Each design that has been acknowledged with the A’ Design Award accolade is provided a series of services to promote the award winning status of the projects. Promotions are done both in digital and traditional mediums. While the uploaded design presentations are usually suitable for digital mediums, participants must follow strict guidelines to ensure their works to be promoted also in traditional mediums. Thus, design presentations with strict image guidelines are provided, and each applicant are required to follow these guidelines with caution. In case of imperfect design presentations, it becomes difficult if not impossible to prepare images for posters to print in the exhibition, and it becomes significantly difficult to print and prepare the yearbooks, but more importantly, press and media members usually prefer not to publish designs which do not follow the A’ Design Award Presentation Guidelines since the presentation guidelines themselves were designed and developed in a way to maximize press appearances by making it easier for press members to use the submitted images. Thus to make the competition more effective by providing more publicity to winners and to have a uniform communication identity, any award winning design which does not have perfect presentation is automatically queued for the “Presentation Update Service”.

The “Presentation Update Service” is a mandatory service for any non-confirming presentations. In most cases, the “Presentation Update Service” is provided automatically right before the award status announcement. In some cases, the service could be applied after the award winning status are announced to the nominees, and the service is provided only and only if the presentation has significant aspects that need to be fixed before the PR Campaign could be undertaken and if for example it is not possible to correctly prepare yearbook images or the exhibition poster with the uploaded images or text.

What does Presentation Update Services Cover
For example if there were issues in your images, we will try to enhance or correct them, if your image can be adjusted to required dimensions we will adjust them, we will remove text and backgrounds in images if we can do so easily, we will remove any black borders or any borders if it is easy to do so, we will try to sharpen blurred photos or try to improve image colors if we can, in summary we will try to make your images comply with image section in the presentation guidelines. But we will not try to find new images or incorporate stock photos to your work; we will use whatever you supplied us ealier in order to provide a quick fix, we will not spend hours of time to improve or enhance images.. Same idea applies for text and yearbook summary, for example if you do not follow the "editorial guidelines" for yearbook or if the yearbook language is not in English or if it yearbook language is in English but if it is full of errors, we have to provide a text presentation update service by trying to fix your text as much as possible, otherwise we cannot for example publish this entry in the book or prepare a press release, even if we publish press releases without updating them first, what happens is that they got rejected from the press release distribution service.

Before “Presentation Update Service” is provided, the participant is updated and the changes are requested to be made. If the requested changes are not made by the participant within 24 to 36 hours, then the “Presentation Update Service” is provided automatically. “Presentation Update Service” means that the uploaded images will be edited in a way to ensure compliance with image guidelines section of the presentation guidelines. In some cases, some images could be removed, and if available (if sent to our team by email by the participant), further or new images could be added. Furthermore, design submission text could be edited or slightly altered, especially in case of non-native English entries, to make the text more understandable or concise. Missing text fields could be filled if this information is readily available in the uploaded PDF, or if it was posted to the wrong text field.

The service is automatically provided for all winners who have entries that fail to comply with presentation guidelines. The service is not available on demand and could not be requested manually (unless you receive the update request but do not have time to do the update). Once the service is provided, a negative credit will be added to your user account. To avoid presentation update service automatically applied to your entry please kindly ensure your design has the following status “Totally Approved”. Getting a “Totally Approved” status is easy, simply optimize the design, and follow any comments or suggestions as provided by the preliminary jury and ensure that your project complies with the latest presentation guidelines. Please kindly note that the payment for the “Presentation Update Service” is not enforced. I.e. the service is provided in any case, and not paying for the “Presentation Update Service” does not affect your award status or benefits. Before the service is provided, you will be usually sent an email that notifies that “Presentation Update Service” would be provided unless the changes are made. The service is required to ensure a level of standardization in the presentations. Please also note that we cannot guarantee that the service would be provided; in some cases we might not have the time to provide this service, therefore we suggest all participants to fix and optimize their entries before or after nomination themselves. You may opt-out of this service via A.C.E. Settings.

If you are having problems with yearbook image preparation, the following limited presentation update services are provided below. These services do not include rendering service or professional photography, however an image specialist will use your existing images, adjust and enhance them digitally, crop if required and prepare the images perfectly for the year book pages.

Designers can pay in advance the packages above (Table 1.) in case they wish our staff to control one more time the entries and ensure they are presented correctly, and that they would be printed correctly. Furthermore while during preparation of deliverables, if we find a presentation has major or minor issues, we reserve right to provide either the Presentation Update Services listed in Table 1. or the Presentation Update Services listed in Table. 2. Especially, if the designers who submitted the entries did not fix the issues themselves before the deadline, we will provide the services on Table 2. However, the services on Table 2. can also be preordered in advance, at your sole discretion.

Minor Image Fixes
Minor image fixes are simple adjustments that take minimal time and effort to make. These include:

• Removing thin borders
• Removing borders
• Centering images to the canvas
• Lowering the resolution from a high resolution to 72 DPI (images and logo)
• Scaling a large image down to the requested image dimensions (images and logo)

We consider these fixes as minor because they can be easily addressed and do not require extensive editing or reconstruction.

Major Image Fixes
Major image fixes are more complex and time-consuming adjustments that require more expertise and effort to address. The severity and context of the issue determine whether it is a major image fix. Examples of major image fixes include:

• Background issues: If a white background is needed, it could be as simple as clicking a box and painting it white, which would be a minor fix. However, if the image has a color distortion or very detailed background that takes extensive time and effort to correct, it would be considered a major fix.
• Logo color issues: If the logo has a simple black background that can be inverted, it would be a minor fix. However, if the logo has glitter and gold in the background, if it is placed in an image background or some complex graphics, it would require reconstructing the logo, which would be considered a major fix.

We do not have a standardized formula for major image fixes, as they are context-dependent and vary in severity. We will do our best to address major image issues, but please note that some issues may not be fixable.

We want to ensure that you have the best possible chance of success and are happy with the level of service.
