The IDA Juries have finalized this year's annual Design Awards winners selections

LOS ANGELES, May 08 2017 Los Angeles, Anita Tran of United States was awarded: Second Prize in Haute Couture Competition for the ani ani Project.
IDA honorary juries examined over 1000 entries submitted by architects and designers of interiors, fashion, products, and graphics from 52 countries throughout the world. After final decisions had been made, the jury rewarded the best professional and emerging designers for their achievements in terms of design, creativity, usability and innovation. Judging was a rigorous process, with winners receiving publication of their work in the International Design Awards Book of Designs. The coveted IDA Trophy will be awarded to all Designer of the Year title winners at the official biennial International Design Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles.
This annual competition recognizes, honors and promotes legendary design visionaries and uncovers emerging talents in Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic and Fashion Design on global level.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
I first heard about sustainable fashion design through wood Tobe-Coburn school. I debuted my first sustainable collection for my graduation project, where I recycled textile waste from several garment factories to make my collection. I now put more thought into recycling and reducing waste through various fabric cutting techniques. As a designer witnessing our earth’s resources rapidly diminishing and the increasing amount of textile waste discarded day-by-day, I’ve become very motivated to utilize every piece of textile in my creations. It gives me a great sense of satisfaction to give a new life to previously discarded textiles. It all started when I saw the waste from a clothing label vendor. I took some of the unwanted labels home and weaved them into a fabric. During the weaving process, I was reminded of the legend of Mulan, a woman warrior who was known for being strong and feminine at the outside of her.

As a highly skilled student designer. My experience aligns well with wood Tobe-Coburn School. With my training at wood Tobe-Coburn School, I would love to work for a company that focuses on fashion. It had been my passion and career since I had started the field. With more than 2 years' experience as a Fashion Design student at wood Tobe-Coburn School, I am adept in CAD software’s, fashion art and design, draping and pattern-making. Moreover, while my on-the-job experience has afforded me a well-rounded skill set, including first-rate attention to detail and creativity.

Here are some sketches for Chinese New Year inspired by the 1940s. Taking a cue from the exhibition in the National Museum of Singapore, “In the mood for Cheongsam” last April 2012, I’ve picked inspirations from the designs of the late 1920s and the 1940s.
The Cheongsam has evolved dramatically from being a 2-piece outfit (the 1920s) of loose cut to tight-fitting, high slit Cheongsam we see today. Now, picture fusing the modesty of the designs in the 1920s and the flattering demonstration of a woman’s figure after the 1940s That’s the theme for this year’s Chinese New Year designs.
