DESIGN NAME:
New Design for DSK Bank
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Flagship Branch
INSPIRATION:
The goal was to design a recognizable yet highly functional space with strong identity. Clear surfaces and polygonal shapes define a contemporary interior.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Looking for a different perception of the environment, typical of a bank branch, we moved the functional units from their common location in the center of the office to its periphery to make room for a spacious and open common area. The function of the separate units defines the dynamics of the surrounding walls, bringing the interior to life and integrating aesthetics and usability.
Both long sides of the surrounding walls are covered with white vertical louvers, intersected by a dynamic green
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The "green fabric" cavity acts like an "endless"and "border-less" waiting and interaction area. The core of the space is free for circulation. The "lounge" niches in the green strip provide cozy space to browse for useful information on the devices.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The realization took place from October 2016 to February 2017 in "The Mall" shopping mall in Sofia, Bulgaria.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The side walls have a superstructure that is covered with MDF louvers and various units, consisting of fabric covered triangles. The floor is covered with 1.5/3.0 m ceramic slabs. Free standing furniture are made of inox covered MDF polygons.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The research was focused on the analysis of the Client's pogramme and the objectives. Thorough analysis of the possibilities for this specific concept to be realized and multiplied in various locations and plots.
CHALLENGE:
The greatest challenge was to motivate all the participants, in order to achieve a result, so different from the mainstream design in the field of bank premises design.
