| DESIGN NAME: Luminous Wall PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sales Center INSPIRATION: The project is a show, sales and meeting space, to which we try to apply some oriental elements. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Jingzhao Mansion is a small display space. Because of the limited volume, it is hard to satisfy the different kind of space usages and to define them individually.In this project, designers use the wall of space, the wall of luminescence and Oriental elements as the concept of design. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The stylist designs the traditional Chinese style screen, the screen is double layer, the space that sets aside 30 centimeters in the middle, embedded in the lamp belt. So the light will pass through the grille, thus forming a permeable luminous wall PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: It is exhibited in Beijing , China in August 2017. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In this project, a traditional Chinese screen was used to make a traditional Chinese screen. In order to prevent the deformation of the screen, the designer inserted metal bars into the shape of the grille. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The project has 450 square meters. TAGS: luminous, penetrable, wall, light, elements, transparent RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We applied the Chinese-style window lattice to the wall. A two-layer 50cm window lattice is applied as the wall, which is transparent visually. Light tubes are installed to the upper and bottom of the wall and the wall looks very lightsome when the light is on, which forms a transparent and self-luminous wall. This achieves our aim: division of space and transparent in vision. This effect of separate but continuous makes the space full of imagination with fantastic lights and shadows. CHALLENGE: Although the area is limited, many functions need to be considered into. In the general architectural design, spaces are divided by walls. In this case, we don't consider walls which are totally solid because we don't want the space to be totally divided into separate spaces. However, wall is still needed to be the partition.
