| DESIGN NAME: Sail Vision PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sales Center INSPIRATION: Sail Vision lies in the southern area of Guanggu Avenue, the Golden Axis in Wuhan. Surrounded by a dozen of campuses, it is brimming with confidence and vigor of youths who are courageous enough to accept novel things. Inspired by this, we created an experiencing space contrary to traditions in hope of activating thoughts of people in a tense and unsettled atmosphere. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Sail Vision covers an area of 690 square meter. Because the exterior sloping roof architecture and main body are 14.7m high in the front part but only 2.8m in the rear part, it is necessary to break this rigid structure. The space takes on a form of a huge funnel, attracting the flow of people and leading visitors to the experiencing exhibition space. The interior space is linked among 5 layers.They are linked with each other progressively from large size to small size. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Upon entering the space, what leaps to the eyes is a front desk formed by multiple sets of triangle facets and a sand-tray model showcase likewise. Triangle cutting is applied all the way from the wood-color block in the third layer to the inner lounge, which divides several different functional areas. The combination between youthful and fashionable colors and linear conceptual soft design stimulates vision of people for future life. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The large overall land area is integrated with the design, presenting an integrated pure and clean feeling of space. In order to tap the full potential of spaces, a simple lighting system of lamp-hole-free roof was installed within in the center. By applying the principle of diffuse reflection, ground lamps and device lights were employed to make the white triangle block in the second layer become the key lamp sheet in the hall. Through refraction, a soft and lively light atmosphere finally came into being in the whole space. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: main body are 14.7m high in the front part but only 2.8m in the rear part TAGS: revolutionary order, people flow attraction, Experiencing exhibition space, lamp-control-free challenges RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The 71 thin metal wires and 20 glimmering thick woodwinds installed in the hollow ceiling constituted a linear lamplight unit. Lights and wires were woven and overlaid with the space, providing the space with a flexible life and dynamic quality. Here, balanced and unbalanced structures were redefined and constructed a dangling nest . CHALLENGE: Sail Vision, by creating an unsettled, tense and unstable space contrary to traditions, stimulates the thinking and creativity of young people so that they could visualize future 3-d life with their new thoughts.
